Xiamen hosts 2011 Stone Fair in March 2011

The fair focuses on a range of metals and natural minerals, showcasing both a wide selection of stones, as well as machinery used in their discovery, mining and processing.

This trade show begins on 6 March 2011 and ends three days later, and this will be the 11th instalment of what has become an annual tradition in Xiamen.

The Xiamen region is home to 1,500 companies that process or trade stones and natural minerals, many of which will be present during the trade show.  The number of stone processing plants in the region numbers 6,000 and the fair offers them an opportunity to showcase their skills, expertise and talent.

Participants can enjoy a wide range of stones on display, including those for both interior and exterior use.  These include decorative garden stones, grave markers and stones used on house facades and exteriors.

Visitors also receive tips on how to maintain, repair and restore natural stone in their own home.

Those most interested in the industrial side of stone processing can view state-of-the-art machinery used in working with metals and minerals, as well as innovative packaging and transportation methods.
