Cabinet Corner fabricating solid surface countertops in-house
One of Cabinet Corner’s best-selling products has recently gotten just a little bit better. The family-owned cabinet and countertop distributor purchased a regional solid surface countertop fabrication business in August. Now the business can fabricate solid surface countertops in the company’s workshop behind the store at 2330 Lakeway Circle, decreasing the time the customer has to wait to have new countertops installed. “The biggest thing is we can turn the product over so much faster because now we’re in charge of scheduling and quality control,” Laura Kenworthy, Cabinet Corner designer, said. “Now the same guys who installed your cabinets can do the countertops too, and that makes things run a lot more smoothly.” Solid surface countertops have been a popular seller at Cabinet Corner for 25 years, but now the product is even easier to work with since Cabinet Corner takes care of all phases of the process themselves. When the cabinets are installed in a full remodeling project (or when the old countertop is removed on a countertop replacement) DuPont-certified employees measure and fit a plywood template, cut the solid surface countertop back at the workshop and install the product in the home. Cabinet Corner is now the regional supplier for Corian and Livingstone brand solid surface countertops in a region that includes West Tennessee and West Kentucky. “All our guys are DuPont certified, which lets us offer the 10-year, manufacturer-backed warranty on the countertops,” Kenworthy said. “The same people who are installing your cabinets can handle every product you need in-house, from start to finish.” One of the most customizable countertop products on the market today, solid surface countertops are acrylic-based products that are fused together when installed so there are no seams. The countertops can be cut and fused into any shape with no limitation on size. Another popular feature is the ability to have a completely seamless undermounted sink installed in the countertop. “It’s a different look, very stylish,” she said about the adaptable countertops. “The look has started changing and people are moving to a more understated look.” Cabinet Corner helps get the ball rolling on a countertop replacement project by offering free measurements, estimates and 3-D renderings of what the new space will look like. “It’s about getting the look and function you want at the best possible price,” she said. “It’s labor-intensive, but you’re getting something that’ll be a lifetime investment in your home.” |
